Mexico Inspired
We finally said “goodbye” to travel restrictions and we went to Mexico last month. Actually, we had been planning a trip for quite a while now. This is a big year for us, we both turn 50. One of our best friends also shares this with us, and we all went to Mexico together to celebrate.
Six days and five nights at a resort in beautiful Playa de Carmen are enough to make you want to move there forever. The beach was beautiful, the breeze was fabulous and the views were breathtaking. Then we get to the food! I’m almost embarrassed to say that we ate everything we could. I couldn’t get enough tacos, and the seafood was delicious. One evening we went to a fiesta and ate tacos, pozole, tamales, empanadas, elote, salsas, calabacitas, ceviche and more. Oh, and we had the most incredible mole! You’d think we had never eaten before. It was so good. In fact, it was all so good that it is the inspiration for our August menu.
So, here’s to turning 50 AND here’s to our one year anniversary of Secret Dinners, or Cenas Secreta. Lots to celebrate. Cheers!
